Ontario ESA Event Electrical Guidelines

Ontario’s Electric Safety Authority has guidelines which ” deals with the installation of electrical equipment in the entertainment industry utilizing any source of power including generator sets. This includes events of a temporary nature held indoors, outdoors, in tents, such as film, television, live performance and other events.”

It is very important for event planners in Ontario to be aware of these guidelines as failure to comply with them could shut down that portion of your show . If video support is a vital part of your event please follow the link below for more information.

Film, Television, Live Performance and Live Event Electrical Guidelines

At a recent event in Collingwood, ColossoVision’s mobiles were presented with passing grades by the ESA inspector for complying with all safety codes and requirements.

When renting equipment which originates from out of province, or country, your supplier will require the same inspection to ensure their generator / electrical system  is up to standards. In the event the electrical / generator is not up to ESA standards, your supplier will be required to make the appropriate repairs or corrections.

As a part of our service, ColossoVision will call ESA and make arrangements in advance ensuring the inspection takes place before your event begins.

ColossoVision believes safety is paramount and fully supports the ESA guidelines.
